West Africa

The Trade Hub supports many other private sector initiatives in countries operating within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).  Burkina Faso and Niger, for example, have high potential to reinforce existing value chains and increase exports for both raw materials and processed goods, such as cotton, cowpeas, and sesame seeds. The project anticipates expanding to other countries within the region to promote trade and improve economic prosperity, such as Togo, Benin, Guinea, the Gambia, and Sierra Leone.  In addition to providing assistance to strengthen value chains for export, the Trade Hub organizes training and capacity building programs to help private businesses comply to the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
